Hot Networking – The National Business Experts!!!

TNBE

Where Networking Gets Hot!

I interviewed with Gia Heller and her networking group, at that time known as Arizona Women (AWN) & Arizona Men (AMN) Networking, more than 16 months ago.  I’ve watched it blossom in to something that is absolutely the best of the best; not just in Arizona, but quickly evolving in to The National Business Experts (TNBE) with groups starting in several states, rapidly becoming a nationwide force.

As exciting as that is, we are now helping women & men all over the world starting with “Empowering the Women of Pakistan” to stand and be counted among the independent business people of the world.  When a business woman in Pakistan looks on the Internet and finds Gia Heller and The National Business Experts, you know you’ve put your kite in to the right wind!

There are so many networking groups to choose from in every city.  We all need the feeling of connection and validation that comes from long-term real world relationships found only in being a part of something bigger than ourselves.

TNBE is the catalyst that has allowed those of us who are serious about our passions, like Becky Feola owner ofAssisted Living Advantage who helps people transition in to an assisted care home, Cynthia Knight, the East Phoenix Valley realty expert for “first time home buyers” and Christina Wagner, Marketing Director for KFNX 1100 Newstalk Radio , grow.

That is just a small sample of the varied group members & businesses that have learned how to shine through social media, like FacebookTwitter, and LinkedIn under the careful tutelage of Gia & her social media team of experts Social Media Masters, including Heather Dopson & Patti Knoles.  It is all a part of making yourself over from a small business, to one that people seek out and follow on a daily basis.

One of our newest members, Kimberley & Brett Noe of AngryBadger Studios w/Brett Noe Productions, researched all the networking options in the Phoenix area and landed with Gia & TNBE.  Listening to her and following all the instructions she gave them, they have been able to gain 35 new customers in less than 45 days.  That is absolutely incredible for a video/film company.  But they did listen – they did learn – they did grow.

You owe it to yourself & your business to check out at The National Business Experts!

When Someone Is Negative About Your Company…

How do you handle it when you’re standing there in front of someone who has a negative attitude about your company? You’ve done nothing but be supportive of this other person’s company and expect a little respect and open ears to hear what you have to say.

Do you run for cover? – Do you stand there and say OK – it’s not for you right now? – Do you get defensive about what you think is the greatest thing since sliced bread? – Do you …???

Yesterday I found myself doing all 3 of my responses above. I also wanted to figure out how to dig a hole into the pavement and just cover myself up!  When you try the 30 second elevator speech with someone who is not willing to listen or actually won’t permit you to sit and do a legitimate presentation, are you doing them a disservice by even trying to talk to them at that moment?

It’s so important to find a way to bring value to that person – But, how do you handle it when you really don’t know what that person values? No matter how well you think you know them. You think they care for people, but it still always comes down to time & money and what they want to accomplish.

So, we’re all in the same boat together – we want to be of value to each other. We want to give quality information about our own passions and loves and we have to see that it really may be “not right now” for people when you’re introducing them to new concepts and ideas.

Take the time to build relationships – we are back to the “who you know” mentality of the “good-ol-boys” (gals) groups!  Learn how what you have is of value to someone else and always realize that it takes real face-time (and not 100% Facebook) to build those relationships.

Maybe, if you’re the sole proprietor of your own business, your new office is at a Starbucks and not at your laptop in your den/office!  Get out – Get to know people – Experience what is important to people and then show them how you can be of value to them and their goals.  We all have goals…so – when can we meet for coffee?

You JUST found out you are UNEMPLOYED – Oh My Gosh – What do I do now???

What? – You get out there and you find places where people gather – Go online & find free networking events – Talk to people in the stores, in the bank lines, in the unemployment line – you NEVER know where your next opportunity is going to come from!

Take this time to look (not back) forward – See what it is you really want to do – and then MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Don’t sit for one minute thinking “oh pity me” – It will get you nowhere, but … drum roll please … unemployed.

Do you love to write – to cook – to introduce people to one another – Do you love finances – or management! – Are there free classes you can take that will help you with your social media so people can see the value in what you are and who you are?

There are so many things waiting for you – you just have to lift your head, kick back those shoulders, and stand proud!

Nobody ever moved ahead with their head down and buried in the sand…

To blog or not to blog?

Is that the question? – So many people say you have to blog to get your message out there to the masses. But do we have to do everything to get people to understand where you’re coming from? Why you want to help people? Why you want people to know they can trust what you say?

It’s all so much sometimes, that I feel I’ll explode – I want to show people that what I do is wonderful – for them, for their homes & families & for the planet – so many articles and companies are out there all saying the same thing.

So, how do I show people that I am someone they can trust? How do I show them that my company is different? My mind runs in a thousand different directions all at the same time – I know they say it can’t be done – but dog-gone-it – that’s exactly what happens to me, and THEN…the freeze! Where do I start? What method of communication do I use to get out there in front of people?

Facebook, Twitter, Blogging – all designed to introduce myself to you. But, how can you know me without experiencing me? My thoughts, my feelings, my loves & my pains. – Oh – Do I want you to know all that? I don’t know – Does it take “knowing me” to get you to see what my passions are? I don’t know, but I’m committed to learning! But, where does learning stop & implementation begin?

Renee Preis (www.reneepreis.com) showed me that sometimes I have to step back from what I’m doing in my head, put it on paper and see where to go from the learning to the passion to the earning.

Time slips away so quickly – it is like I look at the clock and it is 4a.m. and the next time I stop & look up its 7a.m. – where did that 3 hours go? Did it help advance my goals? Was it time spent in productivity? I don’t play games or go to the millions of different sites that scream out – HERE – Waste your time and money here – I can teach you what you need to know to make a million $$ in the next 48 hours…OMG – there are 1000’s of those mind-sucking websites.

So, I ask – To blog or not to blog? If I do this every morning for the next 7 days – just throw my thoughts down in this blog…maybe I will be able to see what people are looking for? – what are you looking for?

And, the biggest question – How may I help you!

Social Media Is Here To Stay – Are You?

Wordle Cloud of the Internet Marketing Blog - ...

Everything we do today in the Social Media world is here literally forever…It’s the in-thing to do for every age; old,  young, and the in-betweeners!  There is the blog, the Facebook, the LinkedIn, the Twitter and every one of them goes to every person with a computer and a net connection.  Will what you say today have content and context tomorrow?

What we feel today – will we feel the same tomorrow? – Is the anger you feel today going to be the same anger you feel tomorrow?  We must remember that the person we yell at in print today is the same person you may want as a customer, a friend, a connection tomorrow.

How do we control what we say?  By thinking two and sometimes three times before we hit send – it is the same with Social Media that we have grown up with in the world of E-mail.  Think and think again.  We can’t take back what we’ve said.  We all demand more and more of our “world” and those in it…
